Seoul – an Asian capital on a world scale
Seoul is the capital and the largest city on the map of the Republic of South Korea.
Almost 20% of the population lives here. Arrivals are first of all surprised by the contrasts of this city: skyscrapers coexist with ancient Buddhist temples, and modern plastic surgery clinics with traditional medicine rooms.Entertainment lovers should visit such popular places in Seoul as the COEX entertainment complex with many restaurants, shops and an underground aquarium, as well as the Lotte World amusement park. Other places of interest are the historical centre with its ancient palaces, the Gyeongbokgung palace complex from the XIV century, the museum of optical illusions and modern art. The city is suitable for quiet walks, there are six large parks here. On the bank of the Han River, there are many floating restaurants and snack bars. A city guide will tell you the right place to have a snack.The amount of underground users in the Seoul metro is one of the largest in Asia. There are 9 underground lines in the city, one of which intersects with the railway leading to the suburbs. Bus transportation is well developed, for better movement part of the roadway is separated. The city authorities are struggling with traffic jams on the roads, which are caused by a large number of personal cars and taxis. Therefore, you can often reach your destination 2-3 times faster taking a bus rather than a taxi.

Seoul Plaza (서울광장)
서울광장은 1987년 6월 항쟁과 2002년 FIFA 월드컵 등 각종 집회·시위·행사의 장소로 널리 이용되었다. 월드컵 이후 광장 조성 계획이 세워져 차도를 없애고 잔디광장을 만들었으며, 2004년 5월 1일에 완공하였다. 광장에는 잔디 이외에도 무대와 분수대(3월 15일부터 11월까지 가동)가 있다. 겨울에는 스케이트장(유료)으로 이용되기도 한다.

Baegunbongammun (백운봉암문)
백운봉암문은 백운대(白雲臺)와 만경대(萬景臺) 사이 해발 725미터 안부에 위치하고 있으며, 북한산성 성문 가운데 가장 높은 곳에 자리하고 있다. 현재 위문(衛門)이라고도 부르고 있는데, 이는 일제강점기 때부터 불리기 시작한 이름으로 그 유래가 명확하지 않다.
Yongammun (용암문)
용암문은 1711년 축성된 북한산성의 여러 성문 가운데 하나로 용암봉(龍岩峯) 기슭 해발 580미터 지점에 위치하고 있다. 지난날 이 일대의 수비를 담당했던 용암사(龍巖寺)라는 절이 성문과 가까운 곳에 있었다고 전하는데, 현재 무인대피소로 운영중인 북한산대피소 자리가 바로 그곳이다.

Daenammun (대남문)
대남문은 북한산성 성문 가운데 하나로 동서남북 네 방위 가운데 남쪽을 대표하고 있는 성문이다. 처음 축조 당시에는 소남문(小南門) 그리고 이후 문수암문(文殊暗門) 등으로 불리웠다. 해발 715미터의 보현봉(普賢峯)과 해발 727미터의 문수봉(文殊峯)이라는 두 거봉을 잇는 해발 663미터 능선 한가운데 위치해 있다.
