When you come across that time you don't have a car, don't go off on the person behind the desk. They can hook you up, or jam you up. More flies with sugar than vinegar.

Give yourself 15 minutes to get from the rental car center to the terminals. Especially if you're traveling out of terminal one or the international terminal.

Give yourself 15 minutes from the rental car center to the terminals. If you're traveling out of terminal 3 or international G, you will need the entire 15 minutes.

I usually get my car from orbitz.com, and simply come here with my confirmation number to pick up the car.

If you are returning a car you need to be at the rental return at least 2 hours before your flight. Long tram ride with several stops before terminal 3

Give yourself extra time at the @hertz counter. Like an hour. They are extraordinarily understaffed and provide service at a glacial pace.

The 4th floor of the rental car garage has a place that faces the runway head-on... Great place to watch planes take off right over your head!

If you're headed to the airport on the airtram, don't go downstairs, outside, and back up. Instead, go up to the 4th floor and sneak onto the tram when the doors open to let others off. Saves 5 min.

Avoid the counter, sign up for Nationals Emerald Club and go right to the lot, pick your car and leave! Its free & you don't have to be a frequent traveler!
