Literally the primary reason many kids come here is the allegedly forbidden sliding down the turf hill on cardboard

The "sledding hill" is a big hit with kids. Bring a paper grocery bag or cardboard piece to sled on.

Great Park. The rules about not sliding down the hill on cardboard seems to just be a suggestion. Slide away!

If you walk north of the play structures you will find a hidden nature path that follows the river to downtown Birmingham
