The twin rooms have two large (full/queen) sized beds that are adjacent each other. Very comfortable and even better than a kind bed for couples 😀 - great bathrooms too!

It’s a lovely ryokan experience (tatami mats, futon, wooden tub) and the staff is wonderful, but the rooms are very impractically designed for travelers.

Great boutique hotel with lovely staff. Japanese inspired room design. Amazing bathrooms. completed a renovation in October 2016, so rooms are new! Walking distance from Kyoto station.

We stayed in the deluxe room and it is massive for 2 people. 2 double beds, double sinks, large cedar tub and shower. Service is impeccable and the restaurants they recommended were all wonderful!

Beautiful modern Ryokan. Staff is very nice and the place is relaxing, perfect after a day spent walking around Kyoto.

AMAZING hotel. Great design (a nice mix of modern and traditional Japanese), perfect service, convenient location (metro stop and 7 Eleven around the corner, Kyoto St pretty close). Ask for a bike!

Amazing rooms, excellent location, great service, free bike rental! Women front desk staff have better English than the men, and skip the lobby restaurant if you're in a hurry.

Superb. The rooms showcase a deep understanding of modern design combining it with the style of a traditional japanese ryokan. Rent a bike for free and get to the gion within minutes.

Rooms are GREAT!! Staff are lovely but as a non- japanese speaking guest make sure you double check what you are told! Take them up on their bike rental - FOC & they help you ip the hills!

Each of the five floors feels like a small village; an avant-garde ikebana-like arrangement sits at the center, and the guest rooms have lantern-lit anterooms and lockable shoji doors.
