Campsites near the river tend to be cooler at night or darned freezing, depending on the season. They're also a bit smaller. We like #12.

Nice campground just off Trans Canada, on the Bow River. Yes, you can hear the highway but its awesome access to Canmore and Banff. First come, first served.

Nice campground with great access to Canmore. However, it is a bit close to the Trans Canada Highway, so you'll be hearing traffic all night long.
