For a complete body workout add calisthenic type activities at the top and/or bottom of each set of steps. Pushups, Sit-ups, and Dips can all be done without bringing any additional equipment.

A basic and effective cross training workout for runners is to walk the steps two at a time balancing on the support leg only and pressing through the heel with a straight back. Strength & stability.
