Take a step back in time! Ride the ferry over from Bayfield. You can walk to the museum from the ferry dock. It's just across Main Street past the Gazebo. Look for the stockade.

The original museum looks very much like it did back in 1958, chock-full of fascinating objects and artifacts from one of the richest historical collections in Wisconsin.

Opened in 1958 through the efforts of summer residents Leo and Bella Capser, Madeline Island Museum was donated to the Wisconsin Historical Society in the late 1960's.
