You can take a train to Thessaloniki from here and Athens with a small interchange. Worth doing if you don't like busses.

Possibly the nicest station in Greece, clean and well maintained.

There are toilets, good in comparison to many public toilets.

No direct link with major cities until Greek goverment sales the national railway organisation. Best way to visit rikala is by bus. Still too expensive
