Best not to enter the southbound train on the south side of 49th Street, especially at night and in the winter when the homeless camp out there.

One of the only subway stations with Wi-Fi, yet still no screens to tell you when the next train will arrive. Figure that one out.

If you are planning to transfer between uptown and downtown trains don't get off here. There are no transfers!

If you can't hear the announcements, stand at the top of the stairs. When you feel wind and E train is arriving.

You can get mobile service at the back of the C train platform going uptown and at the front going uptown.

There are probably 3 E trains for every 1 C train going uptown. Be prepared to wait it out, esp. on weekends.
