Definitely up on a hill, a large fortifications with a lot of changes made to it over the centuries.

The view is alright but you can get it for free before entering the grounds. The decor is poorly replicated. Disappointing

Great guided tour on the hour, gives you a great background to then explore castle at your leisure with some knowledge behind you.

Lots of nooks and crannies to explore. So much to see. Guides are excellent. Simply a first-class place to visit.
