The capital of Bulgaria, Sofia, is also bound to impress guests, not with beaches, but with its historical places of interest. Your guide to the country will definitely invite tourists to visit the temple-monument of St. Alexander Nevski, the ancient Serdika fortress, the Dragalevski monastery, the Borisova Gradina park, and the Hagia Sophia.

When travelling between the cities of Bulgaria, transport, like buses or taxis, are the best options. Do not miss the opportunity to visit one of the many Bulgarian villages a sample the best local drinks. Hosts are also always ready to treat visitors with home-made dishes. Just do not forget one feature of the Bulgarians: when they say 'no', they nod, and 'yes' they shake their heads. The way they move their heads and its meaning is completely the opposite to all other countries.
