The steps nrought from Jerusalem by Emperor Constantine's mother, are believed to be the steps Jesus Christ climbed in front of the jury. Believers climb the stairs on their knees. Interesting place.

If you want to make the pilgrimage here, you must do so on your knees (though a side staircase is available if you just want to visit the chapel upstairs).
