Finland is the best place for activity holiday if you love nature, walking a lot in a calm rhythm, and slowing down entirely. There is no place for haste, only contemplation and silence. The tourist infrastructure of the country is one of the main assets, so you can always find a refuge on the shore of the lake, where nature trails will be marked, and it is almost impossible to get lost in the national parks thanks to good navigation.

Autumn in Finland is a time of incredible colors, and northern nature becomes even more interesting this season. To inspire you to put this country on your list of places for the brightest season of the year, we asked local landscape photographer Julia Kivelä to share her shots and talk about Finnish autumn.

"Autumn is my favorite season, especially in northern Finland, Lapland. Here it is really mysterious and atmospheric. The ground is colored red, and the foliage of the trees is colored yellow and orange. The Finns call this phenomenon 'Ruska', which means 'golden autumn'. It is important to know that autumn starts early here, in early – mid September. Then autumn gradually descends and reaches the very south of Finland. It is different in all regions. Traveling in Finland is very comfortable, especially by car. The most important thing is the right clothes, as it is already very cold here. By the way, September and October are the best months to see the Northern Lights".
